Today was a great day on the creek. I felt as thought I had it to myself. I saw a fisherman, but I believe they left early, (Their mistake!). The morning was not to bad, but the afternoon got red hot again. I was able to get into 12 fish, and go 50%, landing 6 of these great fish. I will be out again tomorrow, hopefully with the same, or even better results.

Here are a few pics from Damon and His Brother:

Today started out real slow. I saw some fish in the first hole I came too today, but they were not into biting anything. I spent about 2 hours working down stream, without a fish sighting. Finally I got to the table top hole (“Same hole as in the video”), and I hit into my first fish. He got away, but the female that followed was not so lucky. I then spent another 2 hours looking for fish, without success. As I have said before, “Always go back through the water you fished in the morning, because nobody sees all the fish. So I went back through the areas I fished that morning, and I started to see and hook up with fish. I got into another 5 fish before it was over, and landed 2 of them. So I got into 7 fish today, and landed 3, not the percentage I wanted, but one of the ones that got away was foul hooked, so I can really take that one off the percentage’s. Here is some fish porn from today. Enjoy!

Got my butt kicked!!!

17 Tuesday Mar 2009

Today was a great day for fishing on the creek. The water level has risen a bit from the recent rains, but the clarity and flow is still in good shape. I would almost go as far as to say, that the fish are now arriving in good numbers. I saw nearly 20 fish today, and was able to hook up with lucky number 13. These fish today were hot!!!. They kicked my butt up and down the creek. I hooked up with three females that went about 15 LBS each. They tore me up!!. I was able to get two of them to the bank, but not to the hand. All 3 of these fish took me down stream nearly a quarter mile. If I had a camera guy today, wow what a video that would have been. If anybody out there would be willing to follow me with a video camera one day soon, I would be more that grateful. It’s not an easy job filming on this creek, but I think the video would be exceptional. Anyway, all 3 of these big fish jumped no less than three times each, the last one must have come out of the water 8 times, while tearing line off my reel, and not stopping for anything. I was able to land 2 fish today, but all the rest just ripped me apart. I was done fishing and worn out by 11:00 today. I am hoping to hold out a bit longer tomorrow, and land some of these big girls, so I can get the pictures going again. Here are the two I got in today. By the way, everyone can thank Indy “My dog” for losing one of the big ones today. She jumped right on it and popped the hook as I was reaching down to get a hand on it. Oh well, got love her anyway.

Slow day for the Landing, and hooking.

Here is a video I am trying to put together, but no pics from today. Sorry!!. I did see a good number of fish on my way out today. One hole had 6 fish in it, I hooked 2, but then they were gone. Another hole had 2, hooked up with both, but never even got a good look at them. Very frustrating after such a good run of landing nearly 80% for the last week. If it wasn’t for days like this, I wouldn’t be a fisherman.

Well the lake fishing went to the wind real quick. I was able to get in the water on Saturday morning, and get into 5 fish, (All Bows). Then the wind kicked up, and blew us off the lake. That was it for me! I knew there were Steelhead in Oregon, and I wanted to get back to them. So today, I was on the creek nice and early. First cast of the day was nice little hen. Not more than ten minutes later, another nice little hen. I was able to get into another 7 fish, and land 2 more. It was not to bad, but I am hoping this week will get real good. Also congratulations to Taylor, for getting his first Steelhead on a fly rod today, it was a real nice fight, and a real nice first fish. Here are the pics from today.

Great day for Matt and I

Today was one of the most fun filled days I have had on the creek all season. Not because I caught a ton of fish. I did get a good amount though. I was 100% percent today. I landed all seven fish I hooked, and I never lost a rig all day, left with the same fly I started with. What made it the best, was the Matt got into a bunch of fish also. It was great watching my buddy get into some real hot fish. One fish really tore him up good, but he landed it nearly 500 yards down river from the hook up. I got a good video of the next one, but as you will see, my dog was the ultimate demise of getting a good picture. It was just a real fun day. Allot of hookups, and landings, also a nice 12 to 14 pound hen that was in perfect shape. Almost all the fish today were real nice fish. Some dark bucks, but for the most part, bright hens!!. Here are the pics and the video from today. I am leaving for three days to go to lake Lenice again this year, for the trout opener. Hope to get some good pics of Tiger Trout, and Brown Trout. I am doing a special posting in the morning before I leave, I may be making a big mistake by giving out this information, but I really want others to experience the same thrills I do on this creek. See ya soon.
